Information:
1. Disconnect cable (2) from lever (1) on fuel ratio control.2. Remove air line (3).3. Disconnect linkage (5) from governor control lever (6).4. Remove four bolts (4) that hold the governor to the fuel injection pump. 5. Remove the governor (7). Weight is 181 lb. (83 kg).Install Governor
1. Put governor (1) in position on the fuel injection pump and install the four bolts (5) that hold it. 2. Connect the linkage (6) to the governor control lever (7).3. Install air line (4).4. Connect the cable (3) to the lever (2) on the fuel ratio control.end by: a) install hoodDisassemble Governor
start by: a) remove governorb) remove fuel ratio control 1. Remove bolt (1) and cover (4).2. Remove four bolts (2) and cover (3). 3. Remove retaining screw for rack stop collar. Remove rack stop collar (17), retainer (6) and spring (5). 4. Remove two bolts (8) and adapter (9) from the housing. 5. Remove seat (10) from housing. 6. Remove plug (13), gasket, spring (12), and speed limiter plunger (11) from housing. 7. Remove adjusting screws (14) for low and high idle. 8. Remove bolt (15) that holds the lever assembly (16). 9. Remove shaft (17) and lever assembly from the housing.10. Remove shaft seal and bearings from housing. 11. Remove three bolts (19) and a lock. Remove weight assembly (18) as a unit. 12. Remove seat retaining ring (20) and pin (21). 13. Remove seat (22), bolt (23), washers (24) and spring (25). Remove sleeve and bearing assembly from the cylinder and weight assemblies. 14. Remove retaining ring (28) from sleeve (26). Remove bearing (27) and races (29) from sleeve (26). 15. Remove valve (32) from piston (35). Remove retaining ring (30). Remove weight assembly (33). Remove piston (35) and sleeve (31) from cylinder (34). Remove the O-ring seal from the sleeve (31). 16. Remove gear and shaft as a unit. Remove pin (39) and remove gear (40). Remove pin (41) then remove shaft (36), sleeve (37) and spring (38). 17. Remove pin (42), lever (44) and shaft (43) for rack collar. 18. Remove pinion (46) and retaining sleeve (45) using tooling (A).Assemble Governor
1. Install pinion in housing. Heat retaining sleeve to a maximum temperature of 275°F (135°C). Install retaining sleeve on pinion. 2. Install shaft (2), lever (3), and pin (1) for rack control on adapter. 3. Assemble gear and shaft and install it in the pinion. 4. Install O-ring seal (6) on sleeve (7). Install piston (5) and sleeve (7) in the cylinder (4). 5. Put weight assembly (9) in position on cylinder and install retaining ring (8). 6. Install valve (11) in piston (12). Install the bearing and races in sleeve. Install retaining ring. Install the sleeve and bearing assembly (10) on valve (11). 7. Install seat (14), bolt (13), washers, and spring on the valve (12). Install the retaining pin (16) and ring (15).8. Install the two bearings for the governor control shaft in the housing. 9. Install the seal for the governor control shaft using tooling (A). 10. Put lever assembly (18) and shaft (17) in position in the housing and install the bolt (19) that holds them. 11. Install the adjusting screws (20) for low and high idle in the housing.12. Install plunger (21), spring (22), gasket, and plug (23) in housing. 13. Install seat (24) in housing. 14. Put adapter (26) in position on the housing (25) by carefully installing bolt (27) through the hole in the housing. 15. Put spring (28), retainer (29) and rack stop collar (30) on the shaft and install the screw that holds them. 16. Put governor cover (31) in position and install four bolts (32) that hold it to the housing.17.
