Information:
Introduction
A closed crankcase breather cold-weather kit is available and is required for areas where the machines operate in an ambient temperature is below −18° C (−0.4° F). This Special Instruction provides the installation procedure for the 466-1957 CCV Heater Kit .For SSL, MTL, and CTL that operate in ambient temperatures of -32C (-18F) or colder the 452-0239 Cover Kit must also be installed in order to cover the lower area of the rear door. This rear door cover kit must be ordered separately. The CWL does not have a cover kit.Note: The rear door cover must be removed under the following conditions: The ambient temperatures are above -15°C (5°F), the engine temperature gauge indicates overheating, or the hydraulic oil temperature gauge indicates overheat. Note: 0W-40 engine oil is required for operating in temperatures −18° C (−0.4° F) and colder. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual for this information. Usage of block heater and heavy-duty battery are also recommended.Note: The latest machine software is required, which will automatically elevate low idle in cold weather to increase the engine temperature. The latest software also has the appropriate minimum fan speed settings. The minimum fan speed must be calibrated. Refer to the last section of this document for this procedure. Note: A demand fan is required, this is a standard configuration for the SSL, MTL, and CTL. The demand fan is an option for the 910K and 914K. Refer to the last section of this document for the procedure. Note: Not performing the above, can result in freezing of the breather system and engine failure. Parts List
