Start By:a. remove engine compartment shields FLUID SPILLAGE CONTAINMENTCare must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to "TOOLS AND SHOP PRODUCT GUIDE, NENG2500", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines. Dispose of fluids according to local regulations and mandates. Put identification on all lines, hoses, wires and tubes for installation purposes. Cap and plug all lines, hoses and tubes to prevent the loss of fluids, and to prevent foreign material from entering the system. Drain all fluids in a suitable container for storage or disposal. Check the condition of all O-ring seals that are in any lines, hoses or tubes disconnected during this procedure. If any of the seals are damaged, use new parts for replacement.1. Drain the radiator and the hydraulic tank in suitable containers for storage or disposal. 2. Put identification marks on hydraulic hose (1) for installation purposes, then disconnect hydraulic hose (1) from the hydraulic tank.3. Loosen band clamps (2) and move hose (4) back on pipe (3). 4. Loosen band clamp (5) and disconnect hose (6) from the hydraulic tank. 5. Put identification marks on hydraulic hoses (7), (8), (9) and (10) for installation purposes, then disconnect hydraulic hoses (7), (8), (9) and (10). 6. Put identification marks on hydraulic hose (11) for installation purposes, then disconnect hose (11) from service brake-hydraulic cooling fan pump (12). 7. Move hoses (8) and (11) through grommets (13) and (14). 8. Put identification marks on hydraulic hoses (15) and (16) for installation purposes, then disconnect them from the hydraulic tank. 9. Put identification marks on fuel line (17) for installation purposes, then disconnect it from the fuel tank. 10. Loosen band clamp (18) from the fuel filler hose. 11. Remove two bolts (20), the washers and bracket (19) from hose (21) and the hydraulic tank. Grommet (22) is very thick. It might have to be cut up and replaced in order to fit hose (17) through the hole in the hydraulic tank wall.12. Pull hose (17) through grommet (22). Remove bolt (23) and the washer that hold strap bracket (24) and pipe (25) to the hydraulic tank. 13. Disconnect plug-receptacle assembly (26). Remove cable strap (28) from wire harness (27), then lay the wire harness out of the way. 14. Loosen band clamp (29) and disconnect hose (30) from the hydraulic tank wall. 15.
