List Of Parts Needed
The preceding parts lists were accurate at the time this Special Instruction was printed. Always check the NPR or Parts Book to verify that these parts lists are still current.Power Shift And Direct Drive Transmission Models
(1) Remove the engine, radiator and guard from the tractor; see the Service Manual for the procedure.(A) Modifying Fenders And Engine Lower Side Doors
(1) Cut an opening in each fender (1), and in each engine lower side door (2) with a cutting torch to provide clearance for the new mounting brackets. Use the dimensions shown to remove the cutouts.(2) Drill one 25 mmØ (1.0") hole in each fender (1), and one 20 mmØ (0.79") hole in each engine lower side door (2) at the location shown.(B) Installation Of Front Support
(1) Remove vibration damper and pulley (1). See the Service Manual for the procedure and tooling needed.(2) Remove front support (2); it will not be used again. (3) Remove trunnion (3), crankshaft front seal (4) and the wear sleeve. These parts will not be used again. See the Service Manual for the procedure and tooling needed to remove the wear sleeve.(4) Install 2P1692 Seal (5) on 1W4506 Adapter (6). (5) Install adapter (6), 2W9062 Retainer Assembly (7), two L1329 Bolts (8) and two 5P8245 Washers on the timing cover. Tighten bolts (8) to a torque of 100 15 N m (75 10 lb ft).(6) Install 5S6296 Seal (9) and 2P3859 Sleeve; see the Service Manual for the procedure and tooling needed.(7) Remove three bolts (10) from the timing cover; these bolts will not be used again.(8) If nut assembly (11) interfers with the new engine front support, remove and replace it with a 3B4508 Lockwasher and a 1D4719 Nut. (9) Install 6W7138 Engine Front Support (12) on front timing cover with two V375 Bolts (13) and two 5P8245 Washers, two L1352 Bolts (14) and two 5M2894 Washers, one S1619 Bolt (15), two 5M2894 Washers and one 1D4717 Nut, two S1588 Bolts (16) and two 5M2894 Washers. Tighten bolts (13) to a torque of 100 15 N m (75 10 lb ft), and bolts (14), (15) and (16) to a torque of 45 7 N m (32 5 lb ft).(10) Install vibration damper and pulley (17) with original bolt and washer. Tighten the bolt to a torque of 307 25 N m (230 20 lb ft). Hit the bolt with a hammer and tighten again to a torque of 307 25 N m (230 20 lb ft). Install vee bolts and adjust tension.Power Shift Transmission Models Only
(1) Remove engine rear mounting brackets (1) from the flywheel housing. Remove flange (2), if it has not already been removed. Bracket (1), flange (2) and the hardware will not be used again. (2) Install 4F7387 O-ring Seal (3) on 9V9452 Flange Assembly (4) as shown. Put flange (4) in position over the two dowel pins on the rear of the engine and fasten with eight L1329 Bolts (5) and eight 5P8245 Washers. Tighten bolts (5) to a torque of 129 7 N m (95 5 lb ft). Install a 2H8829 Plug (6) and a 1T808 Washer in the center of the flange (4). (3) Make sure the area on the outside of the frame rails, where the new brackets are to be installed, is free of dirt and foreign material. Install 9V8592 Bracket (7) on the right frame rail, and 9V8591 Bracket (9) on the left frame rail with eight S1625 Bolts (8) and eight 5P8247 Washers. Tighten bolts (8) to a torque of 270 25 N m (200 18 lb ft). (4) Grind a 45° chamfer at location (A), on both 9V8638 Brackets (10), to the dimension shown. (5) Lift the engine into position in the tractor. Fasten a 9V8638 Bracket to each side of the flywheel housing, with two S1566 Bolts (11) and two 5P8247 Washers. Tighten bolts (11) to a torque of 200 25 N m (150 20 lb ft). Install 4N4539 Sleeve (12) and 6N3256 Resilient Mount Assembly (13) on each bracket (10) as shown. Put two 9D2279 Washers (14), 1D4615 Bolt (15) and 5P8248 Washer on each bracket (10). Tighten bolts (15) to a torque of 360 50 N m (265 35 lb ft). (6) Install 4N4539 Sleeve (16), 6N3256 Resilient Mount Assembly (17) and 9V9439 Guide (18) on each frame rail bracket as shown. Use 1D4614 Bolt (19), two 5P8248 Washers and 1B4331 Nut (20) to fasten engine front support (21) to each frame rail bracket. Tighten bolts (19) to a torque of 360 50 N m (265 35 lb ft).(7) Check the alignment of the flexible coupling and the transmission converter input shaft. See the Service Manual for the procedure. If the alignment is not correct, use 8K8209, 8K8210 or 8K8211 Shims for the rear mounts as needed and 5V6941, 5V6942 or 5V6943 Shims for the front mounts as needed. (8) Separate 9V9444 Drive Shaft Assembly; 9V9445 Coupling (21) from 5V1168 Spider and Bearing Assembly (22). Install coupling (21) on 7T888 Coupling Assembly (23) with four 9M6590 Bolts (24). Tighten bolts (24) to a torque of 136 14 N m (100 10 lb ft). Install spider and bearing assembly (22) on 9V9483 Yoke Assembly (25) with four 1B581 Bolts (26). Tighten bolts (26) to a torque of 34 4 N m (25 3 lb ft). Remove retaining wire (27) only from between the two bearing caps already fastened to yoke (25). Put four 1B581 Bolts (28) (original bolts) in bearing caps of spider and bearing assembly (22), as shown. (9) Install yoke (25) on the transmission converter input shaft as far as it will go. Put coupling assembly (23) in position on flange (4). Fasten spider and bearing assembly (22) to coupling (21) with four bolts (28). Tighten bolts (28) to a torque of 34 4 N m (25 3 lb ft).

Tighten the bolt to a torque of 307 25 N m (230 20 lb ft). Hit the bolt with a hammer and tighten again to a torque of 307 25 N m (230 20 lb ft). Install vee bolts and adjust tension.Power Shift Transmission Models Only
(1) Remove engine rear mounting brackets (1) from the flywheel housing. Remove flange (2), if it has not already been removed. Bracket (1), flange (2) and the hardware will not be used again. (2) Install 4F7387 O-ring Seal (3) on 9V9452 Flange Assembly (4) as shown. Put flange (4) in position over the two dowel pins on the rear of the engine and fasten with eight L1329 Bolts (5) and eight 5P8245 Washers. Tighten bolts (5) to a torque of 129 7 N m (95 5 lb ft). Install a 2H8829 Plug (6) and a 1T808 Washer in the center of the flange (4). (3) Make sure the area on the outside of the frame rails, where the new brackets are to be installed, is free of dirt and foreign material. Install 9V8592 Bracket (7) on the right frame rail, and 9V8591 Bracket (9) on the left frame rail with eight S1625 Bolts (8) and eight 5P8247 Washers. Tighten bolts (8) to a torque of 270 25 N m (200 18 lb ft). (4) Grind a 45° chamfer at location (A), on both 9V8638 Brackets (10), to the dimension shown. (5) Lift the engine into position in the tractor. Fasten a 9V8638 Bracket to each side of the flywheel housing, with two S1566 Bolts (11) and two 5P8247 Washers. Tighten bolts (11) to a torque of 200 25 N m (150 20 lb ft). Install 4N4539 Sleeve (12) and 6N3256 Resilient Mount Assembly (13) on each bracket (10) as shown. Put two 9D2279 Washers (14), 1D4615 Bolt (15) and 5P8248 Washer on each bracket (10). Tighten bolts (15) to a torque of 360 50 N m (265 35 lb ft). (6) Install 4N4539 Sleeve (16), 6N3256 Resilient Mount Assembly (17) and 9V9439 Guide (18) on each frame rail bracket as shown. Use 1D4614 Bolt (19), two 5P8248 Washers and 1B4331 Nut (20) to fasten engine front support (21) to each frame rail bracket. Tighten bolts (19) to a torque of 360 50 N m (265 35 lb ft).(7) Check the alignment of the flexible coupling and the transmission converter input shaft. See the Service Manual for the procedure. If the alignment is not correct, use 8K8209, 8K8210 or 8K8211 Shims for the rear mounts as needed and 5V6941, 5V6942 or 5V6943 Shims for the front mounts as needed. (8) Separate 9V9444 Drive Shaft Assembly; 9V9445 Coupling (21) from 5V1168 Spider and Bearing Assembly (22). Install coupling (21) on 7T888 Coupling Assembly (23) with four 9M6590 Bolts (24). Tighten bolts (24) to a torque of 136 14 N m (100 10 lb ft). Install spider and bearing assembly (22) on 9V9483 Yoke Assembly (25) with four 1B581 Bolts (26). Tighten bolts (26) to a torque of 34 4 N m (25 3 lb ft). Remove retaining wire (27) only from between the two bearing caps already fastened to yoke (25). Put four 1B581 Bolts (28) (original bolts) in bearing caps of spider and bearing assembly (22), as shown. (9) Install yoke (25) on the transmission converter input shaft as far as it will go. Put coupling assembly (23) in position on flange (4). Fasten spider and bearing assembly (22) to coupling (21) with four bolts (28). Tighten bolts (28) to a torque of 34 4 N m (25 3 lb ft).
