4. Remove clips (1) and (2) that hold the fuel line to the cylinder block.5. Remove clips (4) and (5) that hold the brake lines to the cylinder block.6. Disconnect fuel line (3) from the fitting. 7. Put identification on wires (7) and (8) and disconnect the wires from the alternator and wire harness connector.8. Remove bolt (6) and remove the clip. 9. Remove bolt (11) that holds the wire harness to the flywheel housing.10. Disconnect the wires from the starter.11. Remove the clip from the cylinder block that holds wire (9) to the cylinder block. 12. Disconnect glow plug wire (12) from the glow plug harness.13. Remove battery hood (13). Remove bolts (10) and (16) and the spacers. Put bracket (14) clear of the engine.14. Disconnect control linkage (15) for the governor. 15. Disconnect oil line (17) from the fitting. Remove four bolts (18) from the top of the flywheel housing that hold the clips and battery box in position.16. Remove clip (19) from the side of the cylinder block. 17. Remove clip (20).18. Disconnect water temperature sensing unit (21). Move the water temperature sensing line clear of the engine and flywheel housing. 19. Remove bolts (22) and nuts that hold the front support to the frame on each side. Remove the tool box from the rear of the machine. 20. Fasten a hoist to the engine. Remove bolts (23) that hold the transmission to the flywheel housing.
TYPICAL EXAMPLE21. Lift the engine just enough to make a separation between the flywheel housing and transmission.22. Move the engine away from the transmission until the input shaft is free from the flywheel clutch. Remove the engine. The weight is approximately 1350 kg (3000 lb.).Install Engine
TYPICAL EXAMPLE1. Fasten a hoist to the engine. Lower the engine until the input shaft (1) and the hub (2) of flywheel clutch are in alignment. Move the engine forward until the drive shaft of transmission is engaged with splines on hub of flywheel clutch. If either a new front support, cylinder block, flywheel housing or transmission case has been installed, it will be necessary to check alignment of engine with transmission case. See ENGINE ALIGNMENT. 2. Install bolts (3) that hold the transmission to the flywheel housing. 3. Install two bolts (5) and nuts on each side that hold the front support to the frame. Install the tool box.4. Connect water temperature sensing unit (4) in the head. 5. Install clip (6) that holds the water temperature sensing line to the cylinder block. 6. Install clip (7) that holds the water temperature sensing line to the cylinder block.7. Install three clips (8) and four bolts (10) that hold the battery box to the flywheel housing. Connect oil line (9) to the fitting. 8. Put bracket (12) in position on the flywheel housing. Install the two spacers and bolts that hold it to the flywheel housing.9. Connect glow plug wire (11). Install the battery hood. 10. Connect control linkage (13) for the governor. 11. Install bolt (15) that holds the wire harness to the flywheel housing.12. Connect the wires to the starter.13. Install the clip that holds wire (14) to the cylinder block. 14. Connect wires (16) to the alternator and connect wires (17) to the wire harness connector.15. Install clip (18). 16. Install clips (19) and (20) that hold the fuel line to the cylinder block.17. Install two clips (22) that hold the brake lines to the cylinder block.18. Connect fuel line (21) to the fitting.19. Turn the fuel supply valves to the "ON" position.20. Install the engine side covers.21. Fill the cooling system and the flywheel housing. See LUBRICATION AND MAINTENANCE GUIDE.end by:a) install hoodEngine Alignment
The vertical alignment of engine to the transmission is controlled by thickness of shims between front support of engine and support pads on the frame.Horizontal alignment of engine is controlled by the frame. A bent frame will keep engine out of alignment horizontally.1. Put the engine into position in the frame. Install a bolt on each side of the transmission to hold engine to transmission. Do not tighten the bolts. This will give alignment of engine horizontally. 2. If the correct thickness of shims (1) is under the front support of engine, the machined surfaces of the flywheel housing and transmission case will be parallel and vertical alignment of engine will be correct.3. If the machined surfaces are not parallel and only the bottom part of the machined surfaces touch, add shims under the front support of engine until machined surfaces are parallel.4. If only the upper part of machined surfaces touch, remove shims from under front support of engine until the machined surfaces are parallel.5. A maximum gap from parallel of 0.18 mm (.007 in.) is permissible between the bottom of flywheel housing and transmission housing The top surfaces must be in contact.
