3. Remove eight bolts (1) and washers.4. Remove hinged engine group (2) to gain access to the lower engine compartment. 5. Loosen the upper and lower hose clamps.6. Disconnect upper and lower hoses (3) (lower hose not shown). If desired, access for the lower hose can be gained through removing a lower engine compartment guard.7. Remove upper fan guard (4). 8. Remove six bolts (5) and washers.9. Remove fan (6). 10. Loosen two clamps (7).11. Remove turbocharger inlet hose (8).12. Disconnect fuel line (9). Cap or plug immediately. 13. Disconnect fuel line (10). Cap or plug immediately.14. Disconnect two cables (11) from the starter. Mark or identify for later installation.15. Disconnect wiring harness (12) from starter. Mark or identify for later installation.16. Disconnect two electrical connections (13).17. Remove two bolts (14) and washers.18. Loosen two nuts (16).19. Reposition pulley and cable assemblies (15) for clearance when removing the engine. 20. Remove three bolts (17). Two bolts (17) (not shown) are mounted on the frame.21. Loosen clamp (19).22. Remove tube assembly (18) from engine. Fan was previously removed in Step 8 and 9. 23. Disconnect small tube (20). If interference is anticipated from the small tube, remove P-clamps and remove the small tube completely.24. Remove rod (24).25. Remove air conditioning compressor V-belt (22).26. Remove two bolts (21).27. Slide air conditioning compressor (25) onto lower frame.
Freon has NOT been evacuated from the air conditioning system, be very careful or personal injury could occur.
28. Disconnect two water lines (23).29. Open right access panel door. 30. Remove six bolts (27) and washers.31. Remove top grating (26). 32. Remove twelve bolts (28) and washers.33. Remove two frame rails (29). 34. Remove six bolts (39).35. Remove upper guard plate (40).36. Remove two bolts (34).37. Remove lower right guard plate (37).38. Remove four bolts (33). Disconnect the main hydraulic tube.39. Disconnect four hydraulic hoses (30), (38), (41), (42) and (43). Cap or plug immediately.40. Remove four bolts (31) and washers.41. Disconnect main pump hose (32). Cap or plug immediately.42. Remove four bolts (35) and washers.43. Disconnect main pump hose (36). Cap or plug immediately. 44. Attach a chain and hoist to the lifting groups (front and rear). The weight of the engine and main hydraulic pump is 1440 kg (3200 lb). Choke rear lifting group chain (44) two or three links for an even lift of the engine and main hydraulic pump.
During the removal of the engine and main hydraulic pump, the right front engine mount (47) has to be removed completely. The other three engine mounts do not require removal.45. Remove one bolt (46) washer and mount.46. Remove clip (48) from right front engine mount (47).47. Remove four bolts (45) and washers.48. Remove right front engine mount (47). 49. Remove three bolts (49) washers and mounts. Photo shows only left rear engine mount, two others are not shown.50. Remove the engine and main hydraulic pump from the engine compartment.
Raise engine and pump slowly to check for additional lines or connections that could be damaged during removal.
Refer to the Vehicle Systems module, Form No. SENR5498 for information on separating the main hydraulic pump and coupling from the engine. For installation of the engine and main hydraulic pump, reverse the removal steps.51. Fill the radiator with coolant to the correct level. See the Operation & Maintenance Manual.52. Fill the hydraulic tank to the correct level.53. Adjust V-belt to the correct tension. See the topic.
