Introduction
This Special Instruction will explain the rework for field installation of a new wiring harness for the radiator that is used on the radiator for the rear engine on certain 657G Wheel Tractor-Scrapers. The rework procedure and the new harness incorporate a solution for the rear surge in the engine that is caused by the back up alarm that is connected to a production harness. Do not perform any procedure that is outlined in this publication or do not order parts until the information that is contained in this document is understood.Required Parts

(8) Panel (A) Hole diameter 7.5 mm (0.30 inch) (B) 230 mm (9.1 inch) from the right edge (C) 90 mm (3.5 inch) from the top edge
Determine the location for hole (A) by using the dimensions in callouts (B) and (C). This hole will be used to mount the 3E-5239 Relay As (2) .
Drill a hole diameter 7.5 mm (0.30 inch) at location (C). Place a stop on the drill bit in order to limit the travel of the drill bit through the panel to 10 mm (0.4 inch). This will help to avoid damage to the components that are behind the panel (8) .Note: Orientation for the hole can be determined by standing behind the machine and facing toward the front of the machine.
Remove 4 bolts in order to gain access to the harness on the back of panel (8). Save the hardware.
