When reporting the repair, use "PI30184" as the Partnumber and "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim DescriptionCode and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. Exception: If the repair isdone after failure, use "PI30184" as the Part Number, "7751" as the GroupNumber, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMSDescription Code. The information supplied in this serviceletter may not be valid after the termination date of this program. NOTE: The engine oil filter base assemblygroup consist of an innerbracket (8) and an outer filter base. The outer filter base (1838178) needsto be removed and replaced by 1968191 (Shown as #7 Bracket As ? Illustration1). Refer to the illustrations that followthis rework procedure in order to perform the following actions.
Remove the 1838178 outer filter base.
Loosen and remove the check valve plug from thebracket (8).
Remove the 1786570 Spring and the 1786573 SteelBall and discard.
NOTE: Clean the ball seating areaand remove any burrs.NOTE: Make sure to torque allbolts according to specifications.
Replace the check valve plug.
Install the 1968226 Hose to the bottom of the1968191 Bracket As., and secure with the 5D1026 Clamp.
Install the new 1968191 Bracket As.
Install the 1968192 Bolt - Valve.
Installation complete.
