Information:
START BY:a) remove valve covers 1. Use tool (A) and remove fuel injection lines (1). 2. Disconnect fuel lines (3) from adapters (4).3. Remove nuts (2), the locks, the washers, the spacers and adapters (4) from the valve cover bases. Put caps in all of the line openings to keep dirt out of the fuel system. 4. Loosen clamps (6) and remove tubes (5). Put identification marks on the push rods as to their location in the engine. 5. Remove bolts evenly, the washers, rocker shaft assemblies (8) and the push rods. All the push rods can be removed except those at the ends without the removal of the rocker shafts.6. Make a note of the relation of the exhaust valve bridges to the intake valve bridges and remove them from the bridge dowels.Install Rocker Shaft Assemblies And Push Rods
1. Put clean oil on the bridge dowels, sockets of push rods (1) and inside bridges (2). Install push rods (1) and bridges (2) in their correct position.2. Push straight down on the top contact surface of valve bridge (2) with a force of 4 to 45 N (1 to 10 lb.). Turn the adjustment screw clockwise until contact is made with the valve stem. Turn the adjustment screw 20° to 30° more to keep bridge (2) straight on the dowel. Hold the adjustment screw in this position and tighten the locknut to a torque of 28 4 N m (22 3 lb.ft.). 3. Put rocker shaft assembly (3) in position on the cylinder head. Make sure the adjustment screws in the rocker arms are correctly engaged with the push rods.4. Put clean engine oil on the threads of the rocker shaft assembly bolts. Tighten the bolts in letter sequence to a torque of 270 25 N m (200 20 lb.ft.). Tighten bolts again in letter sequence to a torque of 450 20 N m (330 15 lb.ft.). Tighten the bolts again in letter sequence to a torque of 450 20 N m (330 15 lb.ft.).5. Make an adjustment to the valves. The clearance must be 0.38 0.08 mm (.015 .003 in.) for intake valves and 0.76 0.08 mm (.030 .003 in.) for exhaust valves. See Valve Clearance Setting in Testing And Adjusting. 6. Install tubes (4) and the clamps on the engine. Put 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound on the threads of the clamps and tighten them to a torque of 8 0.5 N m (72 4 lb.in.). 7. Put clean fuel on the O-ring seals for adapters (5).8. Install adapters (5), the spacers, the washers, the locks and the nuts on the valve cover bases. Tighten the nuts to a torque of 13 3 N m (10 2 lb.ft.). 9. Connect fuel lines (6) to the adapters. Tighten the nuts to a torque of 40 7 N m (30 5 lb.ft.).10. Put clean fuel on the O-ring seals on fuel injection lines (7). Install fuel injection lines (7) as shown. Use tool (A) and tighten the nuts to a torque of 40 7 N m (30 5 lb.ft.). END BY:a) install valve covers
