A - Capping Kit 1
At temperatures lower than −15° C (5° F), care should be taken when removing the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) line connectors that are attached to the tank, pump, and injector. To limit possible damage to the DEF line connectors, carefully apply heat to the area of the DEF line connectors.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container for storage or for disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change" for the correct draining

Remove the diesel exhaust fluid line from connection (1). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Diesel Exhaust Fluid Lines - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
Use Tooling (A) to cap connection (1).
Disconnect the hose assemblies from connection (2) and connection (5). Refer to the Original Equipment Manufacture (OEM) for the correct procedure.
Disconnected harness assembly (3) and harness assembly (4).
Remove straps (6). Refer to the OEM for the correct procedure.
Remove the assembly diesel exhaust fluid tank (7) from the OEM bracket.Removal Procedure (Bolted Mounted Type Diesel Exhaust Fluid Tank)

Ensure that the assembly diesel exhaust fluid tank is free from wear or damage. If necessary, replace any components that are worn or damaged.

Install the assembly diesel exhaust fluid tank (7) to the OEM bracket. Ensure that the bracket and the isolation material are clean and free from damage.
Install straps (6). Refer to the OEM for the correct procedure and the correct tightening torque values.
Connected harness assembly (3) and harness assembly (4).
Connect the hose assemblies to connection (2) and connection (5). Refer to the OEM for the correct procedure.
Remove the plug the diesel exhaust fluid line and the cap from the connection. Install the diesel exhaust fluid line to connection (1). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Diesel Exhaust Fluid Lines - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.Installation Procedure (Bolted Type Mounted Diesel Exhaust Fluid Tank)
Ensure that the assembly diesel exhaust fluid tank is free from wear or damage. If necessary, replace any components that are worn or damaged.

Install the assembly diesel exhaust fluid tank (6) to OEM bracket (8). Ensure that the bracket and the isolation material are clean and free from damage.
Install bolts (7) and bolts (9). Refer to the OEM for the correct procedure and the correct tightening torque values for the bolts.
