2. Remove the bolts and breather tube bracket (1) from the base of the engine. 3. Use tool (A) and remove oil filter (2) from the oil filter base. 4. Remove gauge assembly (3) from the guide assembly. 5. Disconnect hose (4) from the oil pan and cap the opening of the hose. 6. Remove bolts (5) and lower oil pan (7) on to rails (6). 7. Remove bolt (10) that holds tube assembly (8) to the oil pump.8. Remove the bolts that hold support (9) to the cylinder block.9. Pull tube assembly (8) from the oil pump and lower the support and the tube assembly into the oil pan. 10. Remove the gasket and oil pan (7) from the engine.Install Oil Pan
1. Put tube assembly (1) and the support in oil pan (2).2. Put oil pan (2) in position under the engine and on the rail. 3. Inspect for wear or damage and make a replacement, if necessary, of the seal on tube (1).4. Put clean engine oil on the seal and install tube assembly (1) in the oil pump.5. Install support (3) on the cylinder block.6. Install bolt (4) that holds tube assembly (1) in the oil pump. 7. Make sure all gasket surfaces are clean and free of dirt.8. Put the gasket and oil pan (2) in position on the engine and install the bolts that hold them in place. 9. Connect hose (5) to the oil pan. 10. Install gauge assembly (7) in guide assembly (6). 11. Put clean engine oil on the seal of filter (8) and install it on the oil filter base. 12. Install bracket (9) that holds the breather tube to the engine.Remove Oil Pump
START BY:a) remove oil pan 1. Remove two bolts (2) and remove tube assembly (1) from the oil pump. 2. Remove three bolts (4) and oil pump (3) from the engine.Install Oil Pump
1. Put oil pump (1) in position on the engine and install the bolts that hold it. 2. Inspect seal (3) for wear or damage and make a replacement if necessary.3. Put tube assembly (2) in position and install the bolts that hold it.Disassemble Oil Pump
START BY:a) remove oil pump 1. Loosen bolt (1) that holds gear (2) to the driving gear.2. Install tooling (A) and remove gear (2) from the shaft assembly. 3. Remove key (3) from shaft assembly (4). 4. Remove bolts (5) and retainer (6) from the pump body. 5. Remove spring (7) and valve (8) from the pump body. 6. Remove bolts (9) and cover assembly (10) from the pump body. 7. Remove bearings (11) from cover assembly (10). 8. Remove driving shaft assembly (13) and driven shaft assembly (12) from the pump body. 9. Remove bearings (15) and dowels (16) from pump body (14).Assemble Oil Pump
1. Install dowels (2) in the pump body 6.4 mm (.25 in.) from the outside surface.2. Use tool group (A) to install bearings (1) in the pump body. Install the bearings so the split in the bearings is 30 15° from the centerline toward the oil pump outlet passage (4). 3. Install driving shaft assembly (5) and driven shaft assembly (3) in the pump body. 4. Use tool group (A) to install bearings (6) in cover assembly (7). Install the bearings so the split in the bearings are 30 15° from the centerline of the bearing bores toward oil pump outlet passage (4) when installed on the pump body. 5. Install cover assembly (7) on the pump body with the small cavity in the cover assembly toward outlet passage (4). 6. Install valve (9), spring (8) and retainer (10) in the pump body. 7. Install the key in the driving shaft assembly.8. Install gear (13) on the driving shaft assembly with washer (12) and bolt (11) that hold it.9. Be sure the pump turns freely after assembly.END BY:a) install oil pump
