Information:
1. Remove shaft (2). Remove pin (1) from the shaft.2. Remove pins (3) from the flyweights. Remove flyweights (4). 3. Remove ring (7), races (8) and bearing (6) from riser (follower) (5). 4. Remove control lever (10) from the shaft. Remove plate (9) and the gasket from the governor housing.
Cover (11) holds a spring under compression. To prevent possible personal injury carefully remove bolt.
5. Remove cover (11) from the governor housing. 6. Remove lip type seal (12) from cover (11). 7. Remove spring (13). Remove cover (14) for the low and high idle adjustments. 8. Remove locknut and screw (17) for the high idle adjustment.9. Remove bolt (19) and washers for the low idle adjustment.10. Remove spring (20) and the guide.11. Remove poin (18) and plate (15).12. Remove shaft (16) from the governor housing. 13. Remove two spacers (21) and pin (22) from the shaft. 14. Remove shaft (23) from the governor housing.15. Remove washer (24) and levers (25) and (26) from the governor housing. 16. Remove lip type seal (27) and the bearing from the governor housing.17. Remove lip type seals (28) and (29) from the governor housing.Assemble Governor (Sleeve Metering)
1. Install the bearing and seal in the housing with tooling (A). The lip of the seal must be toward the bearing.2. Install seal (1) in housing with tooling (A). The lip of the seal must be toward inside of housing.3. Install seal (2) in the housing with tooling (A). The lip of the seal must be toward the inside of the housing. 4. Install plates (3), spacers (6) and pin (8) on shaft (4).5. Install shaft (4) in the housing and through washer (7) and levers (5). 6. Install pin (11) in the holes of the plates.7. Install screw (10) and the locknut for the high idle adjustment.8. Install spring (13) and the guide.9. Install bolt (12) and the washer for the low idle adjustment.10. Push plate and pin (11) over toward bolt (12) and tighten the bolt.11. Install shaft (9) in the governor housing. 12. Install lip type seal (14) in cover (15) with tooling (A) to a depth of .059 .059 in. (1.50 1.50 mm) from the outside surface. The lip of the seal must be toward the inside of the governor housing.
Spring (16) must be installed with the end of the spring in position shown in illustration A05420X4.
13. Put the gasket in place and install cover (17) for the idle adjustment screws. 14. Install spring (16) in cover (15). Put the gasket in place and install cover (15). 15. Install bolt (19) in the governor housing. Bolt (19) can not be installed after plate (18) is installed.16. Put the gasket in place and install plate (18) on the governor housing. 17. Slide control lever (20) on to the shaft. Do not tighten the bolt at this time. 18. Check the distance between the governor housing and the inside of the control lever. The distance must be .437 in (11.10 mm) with the shaft pushed in against the governor housing. Tighten the bolt that holds the control lever on the shaft. 19. Install bearing (24) between races (22) on riser (follower) (21). Install ring (23). Ring (23) holds the washers and the riser (follower). 20. Install pin (28) in shaft (27).21. Install flyweights (26) and pin (25).22. Install shaft (27) in the flyweight assembly.END BY:a) connection of governor to fuel injection pump housingb) make adjustment of fuel system setting (see FUEL SYSTEM SETTING in TESTING AND ADJUSTING)

Push plate and pin (11) over toward bolt (12) and tighten the bolt.11. Install shaft (9) in the governor housing. 12. Install lip type seal (14) in cover (15) with tooling (A) to a depth of .059 .059 in. (1.50 1.50 mm) from the outside surface. The lip of the seal must be toward the inside of the governor housing.
Spring (16) must be installed with the end of the spring in position shown in illustration A05420X4.
13. Put the gasket in place and install cover (17) for the idle adjustment screws. 14. Install spring (16) in cover (15). Put the gasket in place and install cover (15). 15. Install bolt (19) in the governor housing. Bolt (19) can not be installed after plate (18) is installed.16. Put the gasket in place and install plate (18) on the governor housing. 17. Slide control lever (20) on to the shaft. Do not tighten the bolt at this time. 18. Check the distance between the governor housing and the inside of the control lever. The distance must be .437 in (11.10 mm) with the shaft pushed in against the governor housing. Tighten the bolt that holds the control lever on the shaft. 19. Install bearing (24) between races (22) on riser (follower) (21). Install ring (23). Ring (23) holds the washers and the riser (follower). 20. Install pin (28) in shaft (27).21. Install flyweights (26) and pin (25).22. Install shaft (27) in the flyweight assembly.END BY:a) connection of governor to fuel injection pump housingb) make adjustment of fuel system setting (see FUEL SYSTEM SETTING in TESTING AND ADJUSTING)
