( 1 ) The maximum recommended power per belt is 2 kW (2.7 hp). Multiple accessories for the belt drive should be installed on both sides of the engine. This will minimize side loads of the engine. If a drive pulley or a coupling is installed on the engine that is not supplied by Caterpillar, then refer to the OEM recommendations for use. However, ensure that the value for the maximum recommended power per belt is not exceeded.
