Remove the brake oil cooler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Brake Oil Cooler - Remove".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Install caps and plugs on all openings in order to prevent dirt or debris from entering the system. Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the removal procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.Note: For easier assembly, mark all hose assemblies, tube assemblies, wire harnesses and cables for identification purposes.

Disconnect hose assembly (1) from elbow (2) .
Remove four bolts (3) that secure elbow (2) and gasket (4) to the bonnet on the end of transmission oil cooler (5) .
Remove bolt (6) and the washer that secures angle (7) to transmission oil cooler (5) .
Remove elbow (2) and gasket (4) from the bonnet on the end of transmission oil cooler (5) .
Remove two bolts (8), two washers (9), and two retainers (10) that secure ring retainer (11) and tube assembly (12) to elbow (2) .
Remove tube assembly (12) and the O-ring from elbow (2) .

Remove bolt (13) and the washer that secures angle (14) to transmission oil cooler (5) .
Remove the bolt, the washers, and the nut that secures two clips (15) to tube assembly (12). Remove two clips (15) from tube assembly (12) .

Remove the lower panel assembly on the left side of the machine.
Remove bolt (16), the washers, and the nut that secures two clips (17) to the bracket on the engine. Remove two clips (17) from tube assembly (12) .
Disconnect hose assembly (18) from elbow (19). If the removal is applicable, remove cable assembly (20) from elbow (19) .
Remove four bolts (21) that secure elbow (19) and gasket (22) to the engine. Remove elbow (19), gasket (22), and tube assembly (12) from the engine.
Remove two bolts (23), two washers (24), and two retainers (25) that secure ring retainer (26) and tube assembly (12) to elbow (19) .
Remove tube assembly (12) and the O-ring from elbow (19) .

Remove bolt (6) that secures angle (27) to transmission oil cooler (5) .
Disconnect hose assembly (28) from transmission oil cooler (5) .
If the removal is applicable, remove cable assembly (29) from the engine oil pan.

Disconnect two hose assemblies (30) and (31) from transmission oil cooler (5) .
Loosen hose clamp (32). Remove hose (33) from transmission oil cooler (5) .

Attach a suitable lifting sling around transmission oil cooler (5). Secure the suitable lifting sling to a hoist.

Remove two bolts (34), the washers, and the retainers that secure tube assembly (35) and the retaining ring to transmission oil cooler (5) .
Disconnect tube assembly (35) and the O-ring from transmission oil cooler (5) .
Remove three bolts (36) that secure transmission oil cooler (5) to bracket (37) .
