This Program must be administered either before or after failure.In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS44764" as the Part Numberand "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code.If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

PROBLEM
Older 352-6378 and 20R-2919 Turbochargers have an interference condition at the cartridge to compressor housing joint that can reduce the service life of the clamp and/or the turbocharger.
Clamp failures are most common between 4000 and 7000 service hours on the clamp.
This interference condition exists on 352-6378 and 20R-2919 turbochargers with serial numbers of RIM41565 and older.
Turbochargers with serial numbers of RIM41566 and newer do not have this interference condition.

ACTION REQUIRED
Inspect turbocharger identification plates to determine if turbochargers are part of the population (RIM41565 and older) that has the interference condition.
Refer to Image 1 and Image 2 for guidance on turbocharger identification and determination of build date.
The turbocharger identification plate can be found on the top of the turbocharger cartridge near the oil supply. Use the process below to determine the build date of the turbocharger from the serial number. The example being used is RIM41565.
R = Build Year - 2014
I = Build Month - September
M = Facility Code
41565 = Sequence Number
If turbochargers have serial numbers of RIM41565 or older and existing 268-2960 v-band clamps have accumulated 4000 hours or more, replace the clamps. Refer to Images 3 and Image 4 for examples of clamp failure.
