The 3054 Engine in the 914G Wheel Loader and IT14G Integrated Tool Carrier may experience hot restart difficulty or lack of power caused by the fuel lines entering and exiting the fuel filter head assembly. These fuel lines are being changed to eliminate these occurrences. In addition, the wiring harness that crosses the engine bellhousing may be routed incorrectly causing the harness to be cut.

Rework Procedure
Parts Stock
Remove all 1232915, 1232916, and 1232917 Tube Assemblies from Parts Stock.
Affected Product
1. Loosen the 1013739 Nut (1) and remove the 1013740 Cap from the top of the fuel filter housing.2. Remove the 337849 Plug (3) and 328100 Washer (4) from the fuel filter housing.3. Remove the 1232916 Tube Assembly (5) from the fuel injection pump inlet and return ports and the 1232915 Tube Assembly (6) from the fuel filter housing.4. Remove the 1232917 Tube (7) from the nozzle fuel return rail and fuel filter housing.5. Remove the 1013905 Fuel Line Adaptor (8), 1013906 Bolt (9), and 1013907 Washers (10) from the outboard side of the fuel filter housing.
Illustration 11. Install the 7W4694 Plug (1) and 7C0274 Washer (2) in the outboard port of the fuel filter housing.2. Install the 1342370 Adapter (3) on top of the fuel filter housing and secure with the 1013739 Nut (4).3. Install the 1342372 Tube Assembly (5) between the fuel injection pump return port and the fuel filter housing port (front, inboard side of the fuel filter housing).4. Install 1342371 Tube Assembly (6) between the fuel injection pump inlet port and the fuel filter housing (front outboard side of the fuel filter housing).5. Install the 1342373 Tube (7), 1013905 Adapter (8), 1013906 Bolt (9), and 1013907 Washers (10) on the top of the 1342370 Adapter (3) and to the nozzle fuel return port.
Illustration 2Harness Routing
The 1145344 and 1083261 Harnesses go under the 1164812 Sheet Metal Guard. The 1145344 Harness emerges about 150mm from under the sheet metal guard and crosses the bellhousing at the rear. The vibrations of the engine could cause this harness to be cut by the sheet metal and therefore needs to be routed differently.
The two harnesses are tied together as they cross the bellhousing. When they reach the sheet metal guarding over the Hystat Pump, the thicker 1145344 Harness should cross to go behind the engine (to the starter motor and alternator) before going under the sheet metal. The thinner 1083261 Harness should go under the sheet metal and down the back of the bellhousing to the Hystat Pump.
