Release the hydraulic system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release". Note: SERVICE DATA: TOOLING (ZZ) WILL NOT BE IDENTIFIED IN PHOTOGRAPHS IN THE REMOVAL OR THE INSTALLATION. THIS TOOLING IS SHOWN IN ORDER TO ASSIST THE EXPERIENCED SERVICEMAN.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the work tools have been lowered to the ground, and the oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
Hot oil and components can cause personal injury.Do not allow hot oil or components to contact the skin.Be sure that the engine and components are cool enough to touch with your bare hand prior to performing any service work.
Drain the hydraulic tank into a suitable container for storage or for disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities (Refill)" for the capacity of the hydraulic tank for the machine that is being serviced. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil - Change" for the correct draining procedure.

Remove retaining bolts (1) and open doors (1A).

Disconnect hose assemblies (2). Remove clip (3). Position hose assemblies (2) out of the way.
Remove hose assembly (6). Remove tube assemblies (4).
Disconnect hose assembly (7). Remove clip (5) and move hose assembly (7) out of the way.

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to fan group (9). The weight of fan group (9) is approximately 159 kg (350 lb).
Remove bolts (8). Remove fan group (9) from the machine.

Position fan group (9) on blocking. Attach a suitable lifting device to fan spider assembly (10). The weight of fan spider assembly (10) is approximately 57 kg (125 lb).
Remove bolts (11) and remove fan spider assembly (10). Installation Procedure
