The friction steering key (10) is used in order to activate the friction steering for the machine. Press and hold the friction steering key (10) for three seconds in order to turn on the friction steering. The key will emit a green light when the friction steering is active. If the friction steering is inactive, the key will emit an amber light. Refer to "Control" for more information.The friction steering key will only operate when the machine is in the PAVE mode. Refer to this Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Operator Controls Main Control Panel" for more information on the PAVE mode.Automatic Engine Speed Control Key (11)
The automatic engine speed control key (11) is used in order to control the operating speed of the engine. Press and hold the key for three seconds in order to turn on the automatic engine speed control. When the automatic engine speed control is active, the key will emit a green light. When the automatic engine speed control is inactive, the key will emit an amber light.The automatic engine speed control is applied when the operator stops the machine. When the operator stops the machine with the propel lever, the engine speed will decrease after a preset time limit has passed. The automatic engine speed control automatically increases the engine speed control when the propel lever is moved from the neutral position to the FORWARD or the REVERSE position.The automatic engine speed control is a configurable parameter. Refer to "Control" for more information about changing the time limit for the automatic engine speed control.Feeder System Auto Fill Key (12)
The auto fill allows the feeder system to continue to operate when the paver is placed into neutral. The feeder system will continue to operate until the proper material height is achieved in front of the screed. When the feeder system auto fill is "OFF", and the conveyors and auger are in auto mode, the feeder system stops when the paver is placed into neutral. When the feeder system auto fill is "ON", the feeder system continues to operate until the material height is reached after the paver is placed into neutral.When the feeder system auto fill is active, the key will emit a green light. When the feeder system auto fill is inactive, the key will emit an amber light.Screed Lift Lock Control Key (13)
The screed lift lock control key is used in order to activate the screed lift cylinder locking feature. The screed lift lock is used to prevent the tamper type screeds from rising while in float mode and the paver moves from neutral to forward. The locking feature will hold the cylinders from rising for a set period of time after the propel lever is moved forward. Once the delay time is reached, the cylinders will go back into a float mode or screed assist mode.When the screed lift lock control is active, the key will emit a green light. When the screed raise lock control is inactive, the key will emit an amber light.Screed Lower Lock Control Key (14)
The screed lower lock control key is used in order to activate the screed lift cylinder locking feature. The screed lower lock is used to prevent the screed from settling while in the float mode and the paver is placed into neutral.When the screed lower lock control is active, the key will emit a green light. When the screed lower lock control is inactive, the key will emit an amber light.Start-up Screen

While the key is in the ON position, the start-up screen will appear on the operator display screen. Ensure that you complete all of the listed tasks before you begin operating the machine. You must use keys (5) and (6) in order to scroll through the complete list.Icon (15) provides information regarding the engine temperature. If you are operating in cold conditions and icon (15) is active, the engine cold start indicator is active.
